How a VPN works

A VPN hides your IP address by letting the network redirect it through a specially configured remote server run by a VPN host.

The Remote Desktop Service gives you a way to access your computer from a remote location where your computer is not connected to the Internet and is therefore not visible to any of your typical network cameras and router’s IP address.

And once you connect to that remote desktop server, that server will act as a VPN to the Internet, if you don’t  understand how this work, you can still learn the VPN meaning online. You are then able to access any computer or website on the Internet without having to use a remote desktop server on your local computer.

Why is Remote Desktop so Important?

Remote desktop is one of those windows that is usually pretty confusing and even confusing to us because there are so many reasons we use remote desktop programs.

Some people use it for quick access to their hard drive which might be great for getting access to the files stored on it, but if you have much larger file systems you might want to use remote desktop for access to those as well.

Another use of remote desktop is accessing a Web server from another computer, on your local network. This is handy because it would not be possible to access your Web server from your computer, but from your other computer in the local network.

All these reasons are why we love remote desktop so much. We think it is worth every penny of our cash to get access to any program on any computer anywhere in the world whenever we want it!

How to Access Your Computer from a Remote Location

With a VPN connection you are able to connect your computer to a remote computer on your local network. Once you get access to that remote computer, you can access your computer from any place on the Internet through a VPN connection.

Here is how you would do it. You would do the following:

1) Setup a new VPN server on the remote computer

2) Set up a virtual private network

3) Connect to that VPN server

4) Log onto your computer using a VPN or a regular internet connection

5) Access your computer from anywhere on the Internet!

As you can see from the above instructions, remote desktop works a bit differently than most users expect it to. Here is the basic steps to setup a remote desktop:

1) Set Up a new VPN server on your local computer.

2) Connect to that VPN server

3) Log onto your computer using a VPN or a regular internet connection

4) Use the same IP address that you usually use to access the Internet to access the remote computer

5) Access your computer from anywhere on the Internet!

With a VPN connection you can access your computer from a remote location. Why would you do this? Well, having a secure connection to your computer is a huge benefit. Just think about it. If your computer were to suddenly suddenly disconnect or if your computer was hacked or even just a bit buggy, if it happened to you, you wouldn’t be able to access your computer.
